Piece these innovative and ingenious designs together to make a 28" panel - ideal for a quilt centre, a wallhanging or giant cushion and add a few Fancy Fandangoes for extra textural embellishment. It’s enchantingly stylish and cunningly creative. Great for beginners and indeed anyone who can sew a relatively straight line! No other experience necessary

Requirements

This block can be made from one colour or use a variety of materials but plain/hand-dyed/self patterned are probably the better choice. If desired, pre-wash all materials but use a spray starch when pressing to restore ‘body’. Cotton materials are preferable and students choosing to work all in calico (USA muslin) - it is advisable to select a medium grade rather than a fine fabric.

Please cut all pieces before class 

 

Centre: Eight  6¾" squares - all same colour or four in one colour and four in another contrasting colour (In picture - four pink one were used for the Trumpets and four cream ones for the background) 

              Four  3" squares (inserts in Trumpets - dark pink in picture) 

First Border: Four  7½" x 13" strips (tucked band)

                    Four  4½" squares (corners)

Second Border: Four  4½" x 20½" strips (20½" need not be exact - a little longer is fine)

                         Four  4½" squares for the corner.

 

Fancy Fandangoes:  *Four  8" squares in one colour

                                  *Eight  8" squares in a contrasting shade

                                  * These squares may be cut in class

Please bring a few small pieces of fabric for added textural embellishment
